Overview:

Timeline: the battle between left and right in Greece in 1944. . . .LATE SUMMER 1944: German forces withdraw from most of Greece, which is taken over by local partisans. Most of them are members of ELAS, the armed wing of the National Liberation Front, EAM, which included the Communist KKE party. . .OCTOBER 1944: Allied forces, led by General Ronald Scobie, enter Athens, the last German-occupied area, on 13 October. Georgios Papandreou returns from exile with the Greek government. . . .2 DECEMBER 1944: Rather than integrate ELAS into the new army, Papandreou and Scobie demand the disarmament of all guerrilla forces. Six members of the new cabinet resign in protest. . . 3 DECEMBER 1944: Violence in Athens after 200,000 march against the demands. More than 28 are killed and hundreds are injured. The 37-day Dekemvrianá begins. Martial law is declared on 5 December.
Attacker: Partisan (ELAS) (Ethnikos Laikos Apeleftherotikos Stratos (ELAS) Partisan Division "Roumeli")

2025-01-27(D) Diane Spangler vs Lawrence SpanglerD British win
2022-12-04(D) Vic Lauterbach vs Jim Miller British winI drew the British in this small, urban scrap which has VC that encourage boring tactics.
I expected Jim to keep his ELAS Partisans concealed and skulk until the last half turn then rush
into buildings next to the road for VP. To foil that, I occupied the most likely buildings he'd
try for to block him and force CC. To my surprise, Jim attacked two buildings, but his 7 ML
partisans broke while my 7 ML troops held. Then the skulking began! In the end, the ELAS never
found their tomato cans in CC, and the 5 SAN only broke one squad, while the Sherman and Staghound
relentlessly hammered any 337 in LOS. Broken Partisans struggled to rally, and I held on for a solid
win (31 VP to 25). I'd give the Partisans the balance. Jim's comments: Attacking the British infantry
is a bad idea. High MC, Rally DRs and high ambush and ATMM drs doomed my effort. Skulking preserves MMC but makes this short scenario dull for both players and the ELAS must kill one AFV to win;
