Overview:

Following a night advance to Point 176, the self-propelled artillery regiment of the Guards Armoured Division formed its gun lines in the small fields west of Maisoncelles. At approximately 0845 hours, guns began to engage targets and the battery captains sent reconnaissance patrols out to the flanks and forward of the undefended position. These patrols ran into an attack by Panther tanks and a company of panzergrenadiers. Last to abandon the position was "Q" Battery, whose "C" Troop attempted to cover the Regiment's withdrawal. Panther tanks and infantry began to emerge from the gully in the "triangular wood" where many soft skinned vehicles had been lost trying to escape. Just in time, elements of 21st Anti Tank Regiment arrived . . .

In British setup, replace “any whole hex of board g” with “on board g”; (i.e., not on board f or hexes shared with board f, but half-hexes of board g not shared with board f are OK).MMP

2019-08-25(A) Vic Lauterbach vs ML German (SS) winThis one is more interesting than fun. Two Sextons survived GT1, and the Achilles and the Bofors Portee got off some shots, but one Panther got a third Sexton and a squad then a PF shot took out the carrier. The PIATs got one Panther and another was immobilized in CC. It plays fast though. We switched sides and played it again with very similar results. The best British tactic is to fall back and buy time, which isn't very exciting.
