Overview:
Three Soviet Armies were trapped in the Uman Pocket and they planned to break out. German defenses around the pocket were stretched, and few forces were available between the towns of Uman and Slatopol. Near Sverdlikova, Battery 16, Regimental General Göring held the line supported by a small contingent of infantry. On the night of 1 August, the Soviets attacked for 14 hours but could not break through. On the morning of 2 August, they would attack again . . . . Eastern front scenario on two deluxe boards (including a new mapsheet included with the magazine). The Germans are defending with six squads and three flak halftracks against an initial Russian force of about 11 squads which are reinforced by another nine squad force which enters on turn 2 behind the Germans. Finally the Germans get a relief force of 8 468 SS squads entering on turn 3. Victory goes to the side having more Good Order squads north of a water obstacle that bisects the BF map sheet (Russian wins all ties).Attacker: Russian (Elements of 6th Soviet Army)
