Overview:

The main offensive of Operation Ochsenkopf led to fierce fighting - Kampfgruppe Lang attacking in the northern sector were held up by a small force of artillery and a battalion of the Hampshire Regiment for a whole day at Sidi Nsir and Hampshire Farm before they could be overcome. This delay was critical and as a result the British force was able to prepare a significant killing field at Hunts Gap (an area between Medjez and about 24 km (15 mi) north-east of Béja).
Attacker: German (Kampfgruppe Lang, 10th Panzer Division)
Defender: British (Reinforced elements of 128th Brigade, 46th Infantry Division)

2024-04-18(D) Andy Bagley vs Hans Bugge British winFascinating scenario, which at first sight looks really tough for the British, because the Germans start on hills on both sides of the valley, and can easily surround and encircle the British defenders. Moreover, the Brits have little defence against the German tanks other than their two 25-pounders, which can't scratch the Tiger (except from side/rear) and aren't a guaranteed kill against the PzkwIV and PzkwIIIs either. However, to win the Germans not only need to capture all buildings, they also have to accumulate at least 12 CVPs more than the British - with no bonus for prisoners.
In our game I tried to create a stronghold around the E8 and F8 buildings, protected by wire and mines. This held off the German attack from the north, but in the south they broke through with ease and by turn 3 I thought I was doomed. However, helped by some fortunate DRs, I managed to destroy 3 tanks and accumulate enough CVPs that the Germans needed to completely wipe me out to achieve the 12 CVP advantage, and this they just failed to do. A win by the narrowest of margins
2024-03-28(D) Paolo Cariolato vs Federico Corso British winVery interesting situation, the british defend at a bottom of a valley while german attack with infantry on both crest and with armor at the valley proper, the Germans have a lot of road to make since they must control all building in the british set up area, but they have the toys to do the job. Brith must be acutely aware that each position can be encircled and its defenders captured, Keep those GUN HIP as long as possible and make him guess. Don't forget that +1 CCV for british AE. Make him bleed. In our game the armor was in good shape (he lost just 1 AFV) it was the infatry that had suffered badly and he simply had not enough bodies to take the required building even if they were empty.
Very good scenario reccomended.
