Overview:
During the early stages of Operation Barbarossa, the Wehrmacht's new armored flamethrower detachments were tasked with helping reduce stubborn nodes of Russian resistance. Panzer Division 7 was assigned the use of Panzer Abteilung (Flamm) 101 to eliminate the threat to friendly forces facing the German bridgehead across the Lojnja River. A Russian force had regained two square kilometers of terrain within the bridgehead itself and had managed to dig in amongst a brush-covered field on the outskirts of a heavy wood.Attacker: German (Elements of I.
