Overview:
The American 106th Infantry Division ("The Golden Lions"), newly arrived to the European war, found itself facing a major German offensive in the Ardennes. Holding positions in the Siegfried Line, the division was attacked all along it's frontage in a concerted effort to hold it in place. At the same time, bold German thrusts to the 106th's flanks were intended to cut it off. The southern positions of the "Golden Lions" frontage consisted of the Cannon Company of the 424th Regiment. Holding the village of Eigelscheid, the Cannon Company was astride one of the routes of advance for the German Volksgrenadier Division 62.Attacker: German (Volksgrenadier Regiment 164, Volksgrenadier Division 62 and elements of Sturmgeschutz Kompanie 1162)
