Overview:

On September 7th, French units advanced into the Sarre Gap between RF’s of Metz and La Lauter towards the German industrial center at Sarrbrucken. French forces penetrated less then 10 kilometers when word came that French minister Gamelin informed the allied supreme war council that the situation in Poland did not justify further efforts in the Sarr. All French units were ordered to advance no further into Germany until the situation could be scrutinized. Nothing of any significance occurred on the Sarr front during the remainder of September while the bulk of French army units quietly and secretly slipped away, withdrawing back to pre-invasion positions. The German counter attack began on the morning of October 16th; clashing with the small French covering forces scattered along the front. One such encounter occurred just south of Schweigen Germany, where French mechanics rushed to repair several Renault tanks damaged during the earlier withdrawal.

2024-08-31(A) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin French winThe dice left me at the wrong times, letting the french tanks easily waltz in and force eliminations through failure to rout. This scenario feels pooely balanced and badly paced. I can only imagine how it was played back in the day, sitting around doing nothing for 2 turns while you wait for the tanks to arrive and do all the unfun stuff lile sleaze freeze or skulk.

The Germans lack the manpower and the firepower to take on a town full of stone buildings, and I am absolutely tired of designers thinking that approaching stone/fortified locations with no cover, no smoke, no flamethrower, no DC, and no base of firepower is fun in any way.
2018-04-23(A) Andy Beaton vs Jonathan Kay German winFrench were too cautious with their tanks which skulked at the back. Germans made some blunders but the French couldn't get the dice to capitalize on them.
2012-10-22(A) Chuck Dye vs patrick palma German win
2009-11-13(D) David Ramsey vs Martin Barker French winSeemed tough on the French, but the end game swung my way. Strange setup with the Germans starting close to the action but in little TEM. Nice tank battles if they survive that long!
