Overview:

September 23rd dawned with the 1/42 Guards Battalion still occupying the Stalingrad-1 Rail Station, having bitterly contested control of it for the last ten days. The Guardsmen were cutoff from their neighbors, with remnants of Lt. Kravtsov’s 2nd Rifle Company trapped at the station, and Battalion H.Q. encircled in the Nail Factory. With the situation fast becoming untenable due to heavy casualties, Lt. Kravtsov decided to attempt a breakout to rejoin the remainder of the battalion at the Nail Factory.

2014-12-18(A) Paolo Cariolato vs Ugo Bartolucci Russian winThis is a little and intriguing scenario. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.
2012-11-10(D) Fred Ingram vs Ed Fritz Jr German winI think the victory conditions are pretty stiff for the Russians. I would assume they would be able to get enough CVP to account for a third of the required units trying to get to the nail factory. But that still leaves a full squad or a negative leader to make it for the win.

Ed started with a human wave against the southern flank, which overwhelmed a German leader and two HS (one with a LMG and the other with the DC). After that, the advance got bogged down in the I40/I41 area. A sniper wounded the Russian 10-2 early and his molotov projector broke on the first shot and it never repaired. There was no serious attempt to take the nail factory by the Germans. The whole thrust was to stop the fleeing Russian units from getting there.

One AA HT was killed by the ATR and the Germans lost about 6 more points in other casualties (mainly CC). The walking wounded Germans squads were used mostly to get into position to prevent route opportunities.
