Overview:

Italy attacks France after waiting for the Germans to deliver the knock out punch. Late in June, in the foothills of the snow-covered French Alps, a battalion of the Infantry Division Cagliari, helped by the GAF "Lupi del Moncenisio" company and the 5th Company of the 1st Tank Regiment, equipped with L.3/35 and flamethrower tankettes, attempted to conquer the Fort des Arcellins. They would have to storm up a hill and take out bunkered guns.

2026-06-27(D) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin French winThe dice played the largest role in our playing, nabbing multiple very low effect rolls from the Guns firing at long distance. Italian artillery did not succeed in displacing the French units on the hill, and although I was rolling 12's and seeing some men cut down, the opposite, where I generated KIA results simply reduced the Italians by too much to be able to continue their assault. I think this scenario mandates a Smoke OBA from the get-go, which is helped by the automatic contact. Line of sight is pretty simple from the top of the hill, making movement very hard on the Italians.

Additionally, I would argue that the French AT gun should not be allowed on the bottom board, as it can snipe/observe just about every entrance the Italian tankettes could make.
