Overview:
The “Super Sixth” Armored Division and the 35th Infantry Divisions had smashed elements of the German 559th Volksgrenadier Division in a series of bloody encounters at several fortified villages. Enemy resistance crystallized when the 11th Panzer Division moved into the area to restore the collapsing German front. The Americans were now fighting a determined and skilled enemy with PzIVs and Jagdpanzers. Task Force Legrew was assigned the primary objective of clearing Saint Jean-Rohrbach. Lt. Col. Legrew maneuvered his tanks around the village, while the 137th Infantry assaulted the objective. . . . .The German 11th Panzer Division is forced to withdraw from board y under pressure from the American 6th Armored Division. Two Jagdpanzer IV(L)s, three PzIVJs and eight squads must cross board 44, while hotly pursued by ten American squads, five Shermans and an M-10 GMC.
