2022-02-22(D) Pascal Boileau vs Cyril Dupuch Russian winA very nice scenario. I thought I have lost so many times that I was surprised to win at the end. Cyril played cautiously and methodically but the luck was on side.
2019-11-09(A) Vic Lauterbach vs Robert Campbell German winThe HASL map makes this fight both tougher and more interesting than the original (T/J82). This is essential urban ASL, firepower, smoke and CC rule. This time, I got enough smoke and lowed low enough to dig the Russians out, but it wasn't easy!
2019-07-17(A) David Garvin vs Mike Updike Russian win
2019-05-10(D) Jeff B vs Scott Sherer Russian winIt's Stalingrad, so you know the action is brutal from the get-go. Russians setup in a very constrictive, yet heavily-fortified area. German tanks are the key to the one. If they can stay in the game and pound the Russians into submission they should prevail. The problem is that their approach is littered with bog terrain. One tank immediately bogged while facing the wrong direction, another tank suffered a MALF, not to mention the 2 squads and crew lost. This was all in just the first half Turn. Turn 2 saw the bogged tank immobilize and the one in the gun's sight knocked out. This did not bode well for the two remaining tanks' TC the following turn. They also lost another 1.5 squads and crew. A berserk German 7-0 did make it through the minefields to position himself knocking on the doors of the fortified House. I suspected he would cause me some future rout problems, which he did. The Russians lost a squad, but took to the offensive in the weakened north side to try and grab some German buildings. The Germans had a MG nest in the upper level of N9 which limited easy Russian shifting here but, other than one turn, they didn't account for themselves very well over the course of the game. Turn 3 saw the Germans unsurprisingly lose both tanks to recall, but their infantry made headway by taking the partially fortified building to the south of the House, killing a Russian HS and crew in the process. The berserk 7-0 was lured into the confines of the House, where he was summarily dispatched in CC. Turn 4 was another deadly turn for the Germans as they lost another 2.5 squads, versus none for the Russians. Turn 5 would have to be their big push. A wounded Pavlov had situated himself in the trench between the Germans and the House, expecting to die a glorious death in CC. But, as Scott mentioned, my gun decimated the Germans in position to do that job. I had considered having my crew abandon their gun to reinforce the lone squad of mine that was holding off the German stragglers in the north, but I am glad I didn't. Moral of the story: never give up on RoF 3 weapons. The Russians killed the remaining German infantry in the north in CC and, since there was no way the Germans could retake this territory, they threw up the flag.
2019-05-10(A) Scott Sherer vs Jeff Buser Russian winVery fun scenario but counter-dense. The Germans conceded when a 1-1 CC battle went against them to push the Russians out of a building in their set-up area. That was the final straw, but the Russian AT gun went on a tear getting multiple CH's and ROF to really blunt the German's last bid to capture a Location in Pavlov's house. Lost my AFV's early due to MA malf, immobilization after bogging in debris and then finally to the TC.
