Overview:

The Germans did not expect to encounter much resistance in the town of Mortain. The Big Red One was being replaced in the line by the 30th Infantry Division, a proud unit with a rich heritage originally from the North Carolina National Guard. The 30th was just moving in from Tessy, and as they took their positions in and around Mortain in the afternoon of 6 August they thought they would be getting a break from the hard fighting which they had endured across Normandy. Their rest was interrupted this foggy night by the sound of armor moving in on their positions.
Attacker: German (SS) ("Der Führer" Regiment, SS-Panzerdivision 2)
Defender: American (2nd Battalion, 120th Infantry Regiment)

2020-12-30(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best American winDan and I both struggled a bit with this scenario. The Germans came strong up the road and were able to enter the village, but the east flank attack got slowed down by Melees. The Church location fell on Turn 5, but the other location was contested till the end and a HIP US 3-4-7 managed to keep concealment, win ambush and infiltrate out of CC to get the win for the Americans.
