Overview:

Ill-equipped, undermanned and lacking any anti-tank artillery, the Polish defenders relied mostly on improvised anti-tank means such as bottles of gasoline or turpentine, small arms fire, and anti-tank obstacles. On 20 September, the tanks of the Soviet 27th Light Tank Brigade of the 15th Tank Corps reached the city's outskirts. Although both numerically and technically superior, the Soviet forces lacked infantry support and oil, which stopped many tanks. Also, the tank crews had no experience in urban warfare, which was a significant help for the defenders. The Soviets tried to seize the city from the south through the bridge over the Niemen River.
Attacker: Russian (27th Light Tank Brigade, 15th Tank Corps)

Question: May the burning wrecks be placed on Narrow Streets? Answer: No. A Narrow Street hex is not a road hex, since the "road" in that hex is not the dominant terrain (B.1). FrF website

2025-04-05(D) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett Polish winA strong push by the Russians on the right flank, coupled with tanks locking down threats wherever possible started off well enough until the Russian assault attempting to cross an open street only for several Green squads to far outperform their qualities, breaking and killing several squads, threatening an early end to the scenario. Thankfully, the pressure from the tanks was enough to force the Poles back. The Commissar did his job admirably, and an eventual push into the eastern victory building, while extremely lucky, was not able to prevent getting locked into Melee on the last Polish turn, sealing their fate.

A close scenario; the Russians seem to need the balance.
2022-06-21(A) Vilis Pavulans vs Jay White Polish winVery cunning defence. I gave up.
2020-05-16(D) Peter Palmer vs Ray Vincent Russian win[Imported from ROAR]
2020-05-16(A) Michael Rodgers vs Jeff Wasserman Polish win
2017-10-04(D) Jeffrey wasserman vs Mattias Ronnblom Polish winRussians rushed towards the victory building with tanks, armored cars and truck mounted infantry (who quickly dismounted). My Poles were out of position and rushed to block the infantry. The key for the Poles is to kill the Russian infantry. I got lucky with a 2-1 residual shot that k/1 a squad and leader (who both Yahtzee). The end of the scenario came when the commissar executed both halves of a conscript squad.
