Overview:

The Poles had a few government buildings in the free city of Danzig under international treaty, the most prominent of which was the post office. The Gdansk-1 Post Office was a sturdy building the Poles had further strengthened, and it was garrisoned by ex-Polish Army reserve officers ordered to hold until relieved. After an initial surprise attempt by the VGAD ("Brownshirts") to seize the Post Office had failed, an infantry gun platoon from the Danziger-SS Heimwehr Abteilung was brought up for support.
Attacker: Axis (VGAD, 2nd Police Precinct and Platoon 3, Kompanie 13, Danziger-SS Heimwehr Abteilung)
Defender: Polish (Ex-Polish Army Reserve Officers)

2024-02-10(D) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin Axis winKnockoff/dime-store War of the Rats is pretty disappointing. A tougher objective to defend with fewer resources on both sides and setups that punish the Polish unless they want to simply inhabit 3 stone building hexes and snore their way to a potential victory(?) The Inf guns are quite annoying and the vehicle serves little to no purpose. I rolled terribly, which didn't help, and was pretty much guaranteed a loss when my MMG broke on its 2nd shot, never managed to inflict any breaks or pins on the enemy. I would rather play War of the Rats 3 times for every time I had to play this one.
2021-12-05(D) Craig Renier vs Craig N Polish winOn Turn 1, the German assault began with heavy Prep Fire with little to no effect, including the guns which could not get a hit. On Turn 2, smoke attempts failed, preventing even a cautious approach. By Turn 3, the Germans began to make some progress. Since the attackers approached from all sides, any broken Polish units that was forced to rout was eliminated for FTR. In the end, the slow initial advance cost the Germans valuable time and giving the Poles a victory.
2021-02-19(D) Kermit Mullins vs Scott Waites Polish winHigh rolls kept the Axis forces from getting any results in the early turns against my Poles. By Turn 5, the Axis forces managed to get into the building, but could not take control from the Poles still holding out. Fun scenario and a good win for my Poles.

The Poles are surrouned in a big stone building. The Axis has a lot of units but most of them are low quality, and also two guns that must set up in road hexes. The Axis vehicle is nearly useless. If the Pole can find a way to rally the units and always have someone to stop the Axis, the building is hard to take. The Axis must concentrate fire to soften a part of the Pole defense and then attack there before the Poles can regroup. In my game a lone Pole squad survived inside the building for a Pole victory.
