Overview:
Generalfeldmarschall von Rundstedt's Army Group South was making great strides in its advance into the Ukraine. Despite a Soviet counter-attack at the end of June, Army Group South continued to advance east at an ever increasing rate. With the objective of encircling the huge Soviet 6th and 12th Armies, General Karl-Heinrich von Stulpnagel's 17th Field Army needed to punch through the Red Army's defensive line and reach the town of Uman.Attacker: German (Elements of 29th Motorized Infantry Division and 13th Panzer Division)
