Overview:

Stalin was eager to capitalize on the 1941-42 winter battles success. He ordered a spring offensive to be executed as soon as the rains stopped and the ground as not too muddy. After some debate, a double envelopment to liberate Kharkov was decided. The southern pincer would fall on the thinly spread 62nd Infantry and 454th Sicherungs (Security) Division. The Soviet offensive smashed into the 454th during the first half of the day. The Sicherungs brought forward its reserves; a construction battalion, and its 11th and 16th Captured Weapons Battalions to stabilize the situation.

(VASL Log)
The Russians never really got going, after turn 1. Too much open ground - which seemed really hard for them to take so many buildings. As featured on IR68.
