Overview:

The Bagration behemoth swallowed whole towns and the German units were being worn down to stubs. Panic was becoming more common as the battle took on all the appearance of a race, with the Soviets doing the chasing. Rear area troops were thrown in front of the Soviet avalanche piecemeal, anything to slow down the attack so that others could escape westwards. Now it was time for every soldier to fight for his life. Germans tried to hold at Polotsk, and for a while the security forces, unused to hard combat, felt a thrill as the tactically moronic Russian bodies were chopped at and crumbled by well-placed rifle rounds. The first Russian charge faltered, but then they came back strong. . .

2024-10-24(A) Scott Sherer vs Jeff B German winSmall scenario but didn't feel particularly dicey. Good starter scenario for a newbie or someone wanting a quick basic game.
2024-10-20(D) Jeff B vs Scott Sherer German win1.25 hrsScott surprised me by coming in north and center, as I was expecting a more southerly approach. Thankfully I had my force spread out enough to hopefully handle anything thrown at me. Despite its low TEM, O4 proved to be a fantastically valuable defensive spot. Due to some good luck on my part, I was able to oust him from the central woods and allow my southern force to reposition. This allowed me enough resources to mostly block the way with bodies in the end game to hold him off for a victory. Very fast-playing.
2023-06-05(A) Eric Partizan Eric vs Russian win
2015-10-01(D) Michael Rodgers vs Jim Risher Russian winBoth sides start off-board and head for each other. My dice were warm at the beginning and Jim’s were cool, then they switched around. Things looked bleak at the end of turn 3 when I was down to one Good Order unit, but an excellent turn four rally phase kept me in the game. On Russian turn 4, my remaining troops were on the exit edge as the Russian tried to exit. My hoped-for fire lane came to naught when I rolled a twelve and Jim exited enough for the immediate win.
2014-10-09(A) Gordon Jupp vs John Haas Russian winASLOK 2014.
