Overview:

Marshall Koniev’s 1st Ukrainian Front attacked to seize the Upper Silesia all the way to the Czechoslovakian frontier. Elements of the Hermann Göring Parachute-Panzer Division were hurriedly transported by rail to the area. They were immediately committed to the XXXX Panzer Corps sector. The Hermann Göring was initially committed on the 18th of March in a piecemeal fashion with little ammo and even less success. They regrouped and resupplied that night, resuming the attack the next day against the 10th Guards Tank Corps. The attack started well, until the Russians committed heavy tank destroyer units to the battle.

2025-03-02(A) Louis Langdeau vs Dan L German winNot bad, but my opponent got a bit diced. I pushed towards the hill with a bunch of my troops, and Dan had a good setup to hold me off. Unfortunately, one of his shots malfed the MA on his IS-2 during the move of my Panther, which immediately turned around to pull up in front of the IS-2 and brew it up. Dan made a play of it from there, but by T4 I was positioning my tanks to pop his as they came on board. Still, scenario seems decent, and I liked the play even though the malf really shifted the odds in my favor.
2025-02-12(A) Eric Partizan Eric vs David Marsan German win
2024-06-29(A) Herve Duval vs Francois B Russian winSome interesting dice rolls:
Russian 2-2-8 manning the AT gun survived the advance of 3 squads into his hex by ambushing/withdrawing, then DMed all 3 of them in PrepPH with a 4+1 shot, and no quartered them!
In the meantime, russian sniper killed two of the 3 German leaders and the German sniper.
2024-03-09(D) Andy Bagley vs John Kennedy Russian winUnfortunately the Germans never really got going in this one. They chose a southern flank attack and fell victim to my tanks on the hill and the hidden AT gun firing into sides and rear, By the end of turn 2 the Germans had lost all four tanks for the loss of just the Russian T34/85, and their infantry had stalled, so an early concession.
2024-02-03(D) nathan wegener vs Scott Martin Russian winMy hilltop positions pushed the Germans to attack behind the woods. 45LL ATG had a chance at some side shots but missed and the Russian tanks fell to accurate panzer fire. The ATG started shooting up infantry on the German right flank which slowed the overall attack enough to prevent German from getting all 4 buildings.
