Overview:

The Soviet 15th Tank Corps regrouped for an attack on Grodno on 21 September, reinforced with elements of the 5th Rifle Corps and 6th Cavalry Corps. Battles raged in and around the city. Soviet artillery relentlessly turned the city into rubble. By midday the 86th Regiment was defending the cathedral, barracks, and large cemetery in the heart of the city. Soviet tanks broke through, but the Poles fought them with Molotov cocktails. Polish machineguns in and around key buildings mowed down the attackers. Even though the Poles had stopped the attack, they decided it was necessary to start a withdrawal on 22 September.

2018-09-09(D) jon smith vs N Brunger Polish winPoles set up wrongly covering the wrong sides of map as I had north and south mixed up....

Russians piled on with most of strength at the obj on board 21, Poland didn't aahve much in there, 3 MMc and a HIP 1/2 with the 9-2 leader on the second floor... they all died but held the Russians up for a turn or 2 until the FT tanks just roasted the lot!

Russians pushed through towards the other objectives and found the main lines of resistance meeting up with the rest of the Russians there.,.. but 20mm cannons, the HIP AT rifle and many molotovs later saw 5 or so Russians tanks in flames... with poles routing the upper floors the game looked tight.. and the FT tanks were approaching...

a HIP HMG had moved but left behind a HIP hero with DC.. who promptly took out a passing FT tank and some rallies later saw the Russians holding the bottom floor but Poland had 4 or 5 MMC upstairs...Russians surrendered with 1 turn to go.

heros were created, tanks were flamed, Mols were flying all over the place, even a HMG killed 2 tanks in one ROF spree!.... good stuff.

Those FP16 trucks and the FT tanks are absolutely brutal though!
