Overview:

German Fallschirmjägers had seized the Moerdijk Bridge, blocking the onrushing French 7th Army from linking up with the Dutch near Rotterdam. The French then turned east to meet the advancing Germans, its lead reconnaissance units first making contact with the 9th Panzer Divison near the town of Tilburg.

2026-04-24(A) Douglas Leslie vs Jonas Bjorkqvist German win

(VASL Log)		FNF game. The Germans drew group 2 while the French got the AT guns . Jonas opted to hold back and let the Germans come to him. Basically, he couldn't get a kill on a German vehicle and conceded on turn three with two AMRs down and one ATG taken out. Tough scenario to balance with three possible groups for each side and an even chance of moving first. I wouldn't fancy the French chances with group three but the combo that we got made for an interesting armour battle.
2024-05-14(D) O Ramaille vs French winBoth French and German split their force to get to the two bridges over the flooded stream. French with additional AMRs moved first waiting for the Panzers on the other side of the bridges. The Panzers crossed the northern stream but were eventually quite all destroyed by the AMD 35s or recalled by a sniper shot. On the southern bridge, the Panzers were more lucky and destroyed the AMRs. Still, one panzer was burnt on CC by French infantry. Two Panzers managed to exit but not enough to win. The Germans suffered 34 CVP and inflicted 26 CVP. A major French victory.

In this case the French, who drew the AT guns, moved first and established overwatch on the bridges. The 25LL’s were able to knock out the German 20L mounted vehicles and dominate the terrain.
