Overview:

Four days into the battle, the 14th Armored Division, supported by infantry from two battalions of the 315th Infantry Regiment, had managed to temporarily halt the momentum of Panzer-Korps XXXIX. Switching to the offensive, American tankers sought to reclaim Hatten and Rittershoffen, the majority of which remained in German hands. Combat Command R was assigned the task of pushing the Germans out of the southern section of Hatten, which included the key locations of the railway station, the cemetery, and the southeast road out of Hatten. Elements of Panzergrenadier-Division 25 had been rigorously defending this piece of terrain for several days. They would not be easily dislodged.
Attacker: American (B Company, 19th Armored Infantry Battalion and 3rd Platoon, C Company, 47thTank Battalion, 14th Armored Division)

2021-04-30(A) Eric Topp vs Jules Honour American winMy Shermans smoked the German positions relentlessly. The GIs moved up and CC-ed the VC buildings.
2021-01-16(D) Kevin Sanders vs Rob Brown American wingeneral bad luck ass kicking here. Hard to defend what you need too as Germans in this one. Good smoke from Americans (SSR) and my 1st shot of my PSK breaks it turn 1. Follow one by two sets of snakes by US troops and then down hill from there. Was a quick one...over T3
2020-04-02(A) Jeff B vs Magnus Rimvall American winNot a lot of time in this one, so the Americans must use the early smoke and dawn LV to close in quickly. I sent a couple of my tanks to the eastern graveyard along with my HTs, which I would quickly strip of their 3 MGs and BAZ {only to find out later this is illegal per Hatten SSRs). I didn't know if they would be able to provide much help being so far away, but they proved instrumental in my endgame. Magnus surprised me by having a first line defense consisting mainly of dummies, and by the end of Turn 2 I was already pushing the VC perimeter. Turn 3 saw me lose a tank to a sneaky long PSK shot, malf another's MA, and forget to reposition one tank in the graveyard. Thankfully I blazed up a Panther with a BAZ, but his remaining tank would be difficult to deal with in such a short time. Next turn I got lucky again with a BAZ, but only after losing another one of mine (despite being HD). Without any tanks to protect them, and with a lot of American firepower in their faces, the Germans crumpled by the end of the turn.
