Overview:
After Bulgaria's defection to the Allies, Bulgarian tanks took part in the final months of the war against Germany, as part of the 1st Armored Brigade. They attacked deep into the German's positions and took control of the village of Kotchani. This enveloping action endangered the German units in Nish forcing an urgent German withdrawal. The Bulgarian Momchilov detachment, composed of the 3rd Light Armored Battalion, the Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and one anti-tank gun platoon.
