Overview:

Montgomery’s attempt to take Caen by the end of June was codenamed EPSOM, and the flanking maneuver west of Caen commenced in bad weather. This kept anticipated tactical airstrikes from happening, but did not prevent the 15th (Scottish) Division from its task of providing a covering barrage for the attack. As rain kicked in, the 44th Lowland Infantry Brigade lead the left flank assault against St. Manvieu-Norrey. Fully expecting such an attack, SS commander Kurt Meyer of the SS-Panzer-Division 12 “Hitlerjugend” adjusted his troop dispositions to defend what he called “the cornerstone of the German front in Normandy”.
Attacker: British (1st Battalion, 6th Royal Scots Fusillers, 15th (Scottish) Division and 9th Royal Tank Regiment)
Defender: German (SS) (Bataillon I, SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 26, SS-Panzer-Division-"Hitlerjugend")

2024-11-14(A) Andy Bagley vs Simon Staniforth DrawThe creeping barrages are the most notable feature of this scenario. For both of us it was our first time using this, and with hindsight I could have done it better - as it was the Germans could see them coming and largely move to dodge them. Even so, the British made reasonable progress attacking on the left, whilst the Germans put up stiff resistance in the centre. We had to call it at the end of Turn 5 due to time, and agreed it a draw, although the Germans probably had the advantage at that point.
2021-02-04(D) John Garlic vs Burnie Fox German (SS) win[Imported from ROAR]
2020-03-22(A) David Ramsey vs Stuart Brant British winPanther's were tricky opponents but one showed a side for one brief moment and the cromwell took a desperate IF shot to destroy it.

The creeping barrages were decent and my first time using them.

Nice scenario
2020-03-08(D) Ian Morris vs Gerard Burton German (SS) winOne of his barrages went off early, and he couldn’t keep up with the other one. Two Churchills recalled due to Casualty Reduction and Sniper, he conceded when I took out a third with a ‘schreck.
2020-03-05(A) Ian Morris vs Gerard Burton German (SS) winClose game, went to last cc phase
