Overview:

When the main body of the 1st Marines crossed to the north bank of the Han River, they did so in the very shadow of Hill 105-S, and at a point along the Han's banks that had been secured by the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines. However, the 1st Marines' tanks could not make the crossing in the LVTs and DUKWs that had transported the infantry. Instead B Company, reinforced by flame-throwing and dozer-tanks from the H&S Company, and escorted by a depleted platoon from 5th Marines to act as guides and a platoon of combat engineers, some 50 men in all, made the crossing by ferry at Haengju, several kilometers west of the 1st Marines crossing point. The tanks then had to work their way eastwards to rendezvous with the main body of the 1st Marines who were already battling their way into Seoul's western suburbs, where Puller's men sorely missed these heavy assets.
Attacker: American (USMC) (F Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, and C Company. 1st Engineering Battalion with 2nd and 3rd Platoons, B Company and H&S Company, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division)
Defender: North Korean (Seoul City Regiment, the 78th Independent Infantry Regiment and the 25th Infantry Brigade)
