Overview:
The wandering Kessel as they called it was slowly creeping westwards and giving ground in the east. General Stemmermann had been named the commander of 11th Corps, all of the encircled forces, finally received orders allowing him to breakout. The 3rd Corps under Hube was moving east to link up and form an escape corridor for the entrapped forces. Major General Gille commanded the Wiking Division, the Cauldron's fire brigade, was ordered out of a battle on the eastern line, sent west to mount an attack, along the southern perimeter.Attacker: German (SS) (Elements of I Battalion, Germania Brigade, SS Wiking Division, Kampfgruppe Stemmermann)
