Overview:

Shortly after the attack on Denmark and Norway, the Swedish government prohibited public meetings and recruitment organizations for Swedish volunteers to Norway. Maybe some 300 Swedes went to Norway, some of them in the Swedish uniforms with Finnish emblem they had used as volunteers for Finland against the Soviet Union attack, and maybe half of them got into fights with Germans. The Swede Gösta Benckert led a company of at the most 219 men, mostly Norwegians who had fought in Finland and some 20 Swedes. On 16 April, they defended Kongsvinger fort for about a day and night, while two German batallions were stopped from advancing. When Benckert tried to find out who of his men later had fired at a Norwegian ambulance, several of the Swedes went back to Sweden. When he learned that the Allies left the south of Norway, he kept 20 men and fought guerilla war until early June 1940 when the fighting in northern Norway also ended.

2025-02-22(A) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin Norwegian/Swedish win The Germans got walloped back to front. A 9-2 leader with an MMG who can shoot at anything from the hilltops for a (usually) -4 or -3 DRM shot, aided by frequent RoF and a German side that couldn't roll less than 8 if their life depended on it made progress tremendously slow and painful.

The Mortar put down smoke, once, which helped nullify some of the defender's advantage, but not before losses elsewhere made the entire endeavour worthless. A heroic 9-1 German leader failing a 1MC and rolling a 5 on a wound check (which resulted in breaking the MMC he was with) was the final nail in the coffin. My enjoyment was severely hampered by shitty dice. The AT gun felt pointless.
2024-03-09(D) Richard Webb vs Rod Lobban German winGood scenario with lots of room for maneuver. Breaking my 9-2 and CRing MMG squad on GT1 was unfortunate. Couldn't get enough FP to stop a last turn German rush on the the L3 hexes
2023-05-31(A) Shane Pask vs German winAll of the Swedes were placed along the ridge line with Norwegian MMG squad HIP covering the exit zone. Swedes nicely held up the German advance until the German mortar lobbed a round into the trench, ELRing the 9-2 and breaking both squads with the MMG.
However, exiting was not going to happen so all remaining Germans charged up the hill. 2 squads reached the trenches on turn 5 but the 84 cleared both out with two hits (one with an intensive fire hit vs trenches in heavy snowfall). However, there was one squad that remained out of sight and was able to advance into a trench on the final turn for the win. (Another squad also survived to advance in)
