Overview:

Operation Crusader was boiling around the Sidi Rezeg area, and General Freyberg's New Zealand 6th Brigade was dangerously exposed. The Kiwis were perched on the Sidi Rezeg ridge and airfield, sandwiched between the German 155th Infantry Regiment on the next ridge to the south and the Italians to the north and west. Beyond the Bersaglieri Division to the west lay the 4th New Zealand Brigade. The Kiwi plan was a straight-forward night attack, westward along the crest of the Sidi Rezeg escarpment.
Attacker: New Zealand (24th Battalion, 6th New Zealand Brigade)

2022-04-11(D) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins Italian win
2022-04-11(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Italian winMy New Zealanders were not lucky in this one. Dan's first gun lit up my 9-2 with three squads and promptly broke, ELR'd and casualty reduced two of the squads. Rate of fire did me in. Then his 9-2 and MMG along with the second gun took turns slapping me around. After 3 turns, I was weary of breaking and having to roll for straying...so gave the concession. I've never enjoyed night scenarios and was ready to be done.
