2024-08-10(D) Andy Goldin vs Eric Michael American winNote: There are a few typos on the card. Special Rule 2 should read so that you put Rv1 on board 54 and Hi8 on board 55. Setup of Company K should read, "... on any hex <= 5 hexes from 55K5..."

This is one of the better scenarios in the pack, as the contest came down to the last turn. Good play on both sides meant the outcome was decided by the dice.
I set up my 29-ers primarily on the victory hill with a few squad equivalents nearby to cover blind spots, of which there are many, since the plentiful orchards block LOS from the upper heights of the hilltop.
Eric opted to enter from the East. His Germans did a good job of using hedgerows and blind hexes to approach the hill while his kill stack and 81s kept GI heads down. His firepower extracted a toll on my troops, and my repeated malf'ing of my support weapons meant that by Turn 5 I was down to only my MMGs (which I had kept concealed) as my HMG and all my mortars were malf'd or x'd out by that time.
In the last couple turns, my 6ML Americans in foxholes managed to (barely) hang on through repeated MCs while my hot dice shredded the Germans which came up the hill in the end-of-game rush. At that point it could have gone either way but my dice were better and the Americans held the hill as a result.
