Overview:

The thrust of Infanterie-Regiment "Großdeutschland" through Luxembourg and southeast Belgium caught the French unprepared. To protect the flanks of the main French movement north, they sent slightly armed cavalry units into the Ardennes, assuming that the terrain was unsuitable for armored advances. With few anti-tank capabilities, the defenders were hard pressed to stem the advancing Germans. On May 11th, leading elements of Großdeutschland made contact with elements of the 2me DLC on the eastern edge of Suxy [susi], on the Vierre River.

2024-07-29(A) Dave Mareske vs Paul Works German winThis game had a lot going on with crazy dice rolls. We forgot about bogging in the wheatfields, but then I was too aggressive with the halftracks before realizing I needed 4 mobile ones! Germans got lots of ROF, but the French made lots of MCs but were unable to kill the halftracks despite good chances. One of my STUGs rubbled a building with a CH and the game ended with an INF overrun of a broken wounded leader, winning that CC, then advancing upstairs for some 3-2 CC which I survived with a wounded leader capturing a conscript half squad. A very close game.

2023-04-14(D) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins French winFirst to play and post.
2023-04-14(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best French winReally fun scenario. My Germans were a bit too cautious on Turn 1, which would keep me from winning. I received the STUG's as reinforcements and Dan's French received the 2 x 4-5-7's and 7-0 which would go into the E3 building and secure the victory. My Germans would bog and immobilize one of the half-tracks and Dan would destroy the 37L Halftrack. The Germans were secure the K2 building on Turn 5 and bum rush the E2 building, but despite VBM freezing both hexes and surround the building, the broken French retired to Level 1 and that was game over and a French victory. Remember to be aggressive as the Germans.
