Overview:

At the end of August, the Finns had liberated the last of the territory taken by the Russians at the conclusion of the Winter War. In his Order of the Day for 3 September, Field Marshal Mannerheim told his armies: "The Frontier has been reached. The fight goes on." The Finnish offensive in Ladogakarelia began on the night of 4 September. By the middle of September, the Army of Karelia had possession of the entire length of the Svir River northeast of Leningrad and was developing a concentric attack on Petrozavodsk, the capital of Eastern Karelia. The Finnish 1st Jaeger Brigade approached Petrozavodsk from the south along the Murmansh Railroad, while the Finnish 1st Division pressed in from the northwest. Units of the Russian Petrozavodsk Operational Group resisted fiercely.
Attacker: Finnish (1st Jäger Regiment and Finnish 1st Division)

2023-09-28(D) Andy Bagley vs Mike Grogan Russian winIt's rare for me that a plan comes together, but it did here. As the Russians, I set out to defend building 22F3 and one other, which turned out to be 22P8. The other three buildings fell fairly quickly to the Russians as I conducted a fighting withdrawal that left most of my forces intact. My first set of reinforcements came on at 22I1 to help defend the 2VP building, but that was never really threatened so most of them could shift south to aid the defence of 22P8. Second reinforcements came on 49A6, threatening to recapture VP buildings from the rear, which forced the Finns to divert a couple of units in that direction. The Finns were unfortunate to run out of flame with their FT tank after three shots, but all of this left them with insufficient strength to capture the final building they needed, and my opponent conceded on turn 6. Very enjoyable scenario though, with lots to do for both sides.
2023-09-12(D) Lawrence Spangler vs Diane SpanglerA Russian winGreat game. Come down to the last turn.
2023-08-07(D) nathan wegener vs Scott Martin Russian winAble to funnel Finn attacks away from the big building buying some time and keeping a few Finn squads out of action with DFF. Finn attack dice were kind to me as well. Won the tank battle with the Postjuna allowing my tanks to encircle a second victory building and hold off the assault.
2023-07-29(D) Dan Best vs Alan Statham Russian winSt. Louis ASL Tournament 2023.
2023-04-11(D) Jonathan Kapleau vs Holland, Donald Finnish win
