Overview:

Vital to the control of central Tunisia, the Faid Pass was a narrow defile between two razorback ridges. It had been taken by the Americans in December and since then had been a nightmare for the Axis. With all available American forces massing for an attack at Maknessy, the pass was now defended by the ill-equipped Free French forces from the "Constantine" Division, a unit so poorly supplied that its troops begged for American helmets just so that the Germans might be fooled into thinking that they were attacking a better-armed American unit. In the last days of January 1942, Panzer-Division 21 turned its vision on this last significant gap in the Eastern Dorsal mountain range held by the Allies.
Attacker: German/Italian (Kampfgruppe Pfeiffer, 50th Special Brigade, 5° Reggimento Bersaglieri and 131° Divisione Corazzata "Centauro" with Kampfgruppe Grün, Panzer-Regiment 5, Panzer-Division 21)
Defender: Free French (Regiment de Tirailleurs Africaine and 67th Regiment d'Artillerie Algerien, Constantine March Division)

2026-03-22(D) Vic Lauterbach vs RV German/Italian winI accepted the challenge of the Free French in this Tunisian clash. Passing up a hill position, I put the 75 ARTs in the T9 woods by the village gambling that they might stay hidden long enough to do major damage. They broke a bunch of 347s and killed one Semovente, but Renato pushed forward aggressively and enveloped the village. Once he took out both guns, my low ELR French broke and disrupted. The Panzers arrived to help finish off my MGs in the sangars on Hill 714 and Renato had the win. This one was very entertaining. It favors the attacker but offers lots of interesting tactical options to the defender. Very good game!
2025-06-27(A) Richard Jenulis vs Will Fleming German/Italian winThe Axis attacked along the French right. I was able to take all the board 15 VP buildings. The game went down to several last turn CC.
