Overview:

Reports received from Solomon Islanders, including retired Sergeant Major Jacob C. Vouza who served in the British Solomon Islands Protectorate Constabulary, indicated that the Japanese soldiers were present to the east of Lunga Point. Acting upon this information, a Marine patrol consisting of 60 soldiers and four local scouts, under the command of U.S. Marine Captain Charles H. Brush, set out from the Lunga perimeter on 19 August. Their objective was to investigate the situation further, and determine the strength of Japanese forces in the area.
Attacker: Japanese (28th Infantry Regiment)

2025-03-05(D) Ian Morris vs American (USMC) win
2024-10-07(D) Peyton Spreacker vs Brandon Dega Japanese winFast to play and a knife fight.
2024-07-01(A) Andy Bagley vs Josh Kalman American (USMC) winThis is as much a puzzle as it is a scenario; lots of choices for both sides despite its tiny size. My plan as the Japanese was to approach the USMC forces using concealment, and then attack in CC to cause casualties. However, this quickly unravelled when the dice had their say: first USMC defensive shot rolled snakeyes and my 9-1 leader promptly failed a 1MC and died of wounds. Things then went from bad to worse - not even my 10-0 leader could pass a MC, and my squads were quickly losing strength. By the end of my third turn, I had virtually nothing left and had killed just a single USMC squad, so I conceded. Don't agree with other AAR's that say this is hard for the Americans!
2024-03-18(A) Dan Best vs Dave Mareske Japanese winJapanese inflicted 6 CVP and then exited off the south edge with 7 EVP. This seems hard on the Americans.
2024-03-17(A) Rob Schmitt vs Will Willow Japanese winI was the Japanese attacker vs US Marine Defender. Small game size and board. As Japanese attacker I concentrated on gaining/occupying the path hexes and trying to eliminate as many US MMCs as possible in CC. Marine player keep majority of his forces out of reach and I wasted quite a bit of fire on Dummy stacks. He used SSR2 and brought on reinforcements turn 3 on the south side to counterattack and block any potential south exits by the Japanese. This came close to working for him but I was able to rush a Leader and Squad back along the path. The Marines withdrew an opted to just block my potential exit to the south. Japanese won last turn by having exacting 10 VPs, 3 by CVP of Marines, and 7 by occupying the path victory hexes.
