Overview:

The 100th Division, part of General Alexander Patch's 7th Army, was advancing through the Low Vosges mountains towards German positions around the Maginot Line fortifications at Bitche. What Colonel Andrew Tycheson of the 399th Regiment did not know was that their adversary, Generalmajor Alfred Philippi, commander of Volksgrenadier-Division 361-a veteran of the Russian Front and recipient of the Knight's Cross-had correctly surmised that the American advance would proceed along the main road leading through Lemberg to Bitche, so he concentrated his forces there.
Attacker: American (399th Infantry Regiment, 100th Infantry Division)

2025-02-13(A) X von Marwitz vs Chris Hofland American winA very detailed AAR for my playing can be found at Gamesquad forum under the following link (if you're logged in there...):

Played this as the Americans and managed a win.
2024-11-13(D) Ian Morris vs Martin Mayers American winAnother close game. Martin only took one building, but ensured he took a lot of prisoners, and squeaked a win by one or two VP.
2024-09-25(D) Ian Morris vs Ian Ainsworth German winPlayed over two sessions, and I dicebotted Ian in both of them. It was still close at the end : in the final turn, the Americans had a 3:1 CC to take a building for an 8-point swing in VP to win the game, but gacked the roll.
2024-05-13(A) Andy Bagley vs Josh Kalman German winSecond time playing this scenario, no American balance this time and a fairly comfortable German win. All credit to my opponent for a very good setup with both Guns on the hilltop, and falling back very slowly giving my infantry very little opportunity for advancing fire. I also had no luck with Smoke or WP from my tanks, and very few successful MCs. By turn 5 the Americans found themselves outnumbered by the remaining German defenders and with no chance of achieving victory, so I conceded.
2024-04-04(D) Craig Renier vs Ed Barnes German winHero creation, snakes on a 1-6 CC, successful PF check followed by a hit, were just a few of the German positive outcomes leaving the Americans with heavy losses vs no losses for the Germans.
