2024-05-10(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins American win
2024-05-10(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best American winGerman defense did its best and managed to throw the Americans back on Turns 1 and 2, but on Turn 3, the hits rained down and the Germans ELR'd and disrupted. By the end of Turn 4, the Germans had been beaten.
2024-04-29(D) Jeff B vs Steve Etzelmueller American winAmis came on entirely south of the stream; probably a wise move as I had my MMG set up in the P9 stone building, and my mortar waiting to pound any units entering the T10 woods. The plan was to keep concealment as long as possible and just block the way with bodies - never the most exciting defense. But Ami firepower was just too great, and my troops just too poor to withstand this for the whole game. So Turn 4 saw them clear the south side, and storm over on Turn 5. I adopted a reverse slope defense to try and concentrate on holding him out of S5, but I came up short of breaking him to the man ADJ to the buildings when one HS shrugged off a 1MC from my mortar. His advance fire easily ousted me for this guy to stroll on in. Way too small of a scenario to be taken seriously, and it's rather unclear why the whole board is in-play rather than a half.
2024-04-19(D) Jack Wilson vs Herbert Heyman American winDespite losing as the German, this one is heavily slanted against the American player. The GIs are almost forced to clear the south side of the river before storming across the bridge to capture the remaining 5 victory hexes. It took Herbert 4 turns (out of 5) to finally clear a path to make the last turn "Devil take the hindmost" dash across the bridge. I had been keeping several units under concealment for just that very thing. In that last turn fusillade, I had 9 shots, 7 of which were -2 DRM shots, and all I accomplished was one broken HS. Whatever managed to survive his PBF in the AFPh, was mopped up in the CCPh. A fun scenario vs. a quality opponent.
