Overview:
Following the capitulation of Japan, and in accordance with the Potsdam agreements, on September 12, 1945, French Indochina split in two. The northern part was placed under the control of China, while the land south of latitude 16° north was to be included in the Southeast Asia Command under British control. Ten days earlier, the Viet-Minh with its leader Ho Chi Minh, took advantage of the general chaos to declare the country's independence. But the French authorities wanted to restore their authority over the whole territory. General Leclerc then landed in Saigon on October 3 with the 5ème Regiment d'Infanterie Coloniale and the "Ponchardier" commando group (named after its charismatic leader), as the vanguard of the expeditionary force. At the end of 1945, Cochinchina was generally pacified, and Leclerc was able to begin the liberation of Annam and Tonkin in the early months of 1946. This latter territory was plagued by Viet Minh bands and Chinese Nationalist soldiers. However, skirmishes still arose around Saigon in the spring of 1946.

I selected this scenario because I am quite interested in Indochina. The game went well, and the game remained uncertain till the very last turn before the FF won.
