Overview:

As the blitzkrieg into the Ardennes entered its second day, German forces from Panzer-Division 10, including Infanterie-Regiment "Großdeutschland," advanced towards Suxy. In response, French cavalry units from the 1e Brigade de Cavalerie, 2e Division Légère de Cavalerie, were deployed to defend the village. A horse troop was stationed within Suxy itself. The French managed to hold off the German infantry for a time, aided by the destruction of a bridge over the Vierre River, slowing the German advance considerably.

2026-05-07(A) Craig Houliston vs David Haasl German win6 hrsOutstanding scenario! German had net 1VP at the start of game's final (French) player turn. I was able to KO a PanPan that, while it went in motion last turn, failed it's radioless TC. My recently manhandled 37L KOed it for 3VP (crew survived). In my prior advance phase, a 248 advanced into a hex with an abandoned 25LL and recovered it in the final Rally phase. At game end, it it added 4CVP for a net 8VP win (40-32). This was a VERY tight, exciting game! Most recommended!

2026-03-30(D) Andy Goldin vs Stephen Worrel French winSteve struggled to use the towed 37 AT guns effectively, and I didn't help by machine-gunning them as he tried to move them into position. Honestly I'm not sure how to use these in this scenario. I managed to score a lucky hit on the side of a Stug with one of my 25LLs, knocking it out. Best use of the Stugs seems to be to keep them back for support and fire smoke. Casualties aside, once the Germans got into the town it was tough to stop them. Game ended with VP being tied (or nearly so) in the last turn.

I just hadn’t managed to cause enough French casualties to prevent them re-capturing buildings in the final half turn even if I took enough for the win. This looked unlikely as my attack bogged down in the face of an effective French defence
