Overview:

South of the heavily manned enemy roadblocks around the Taukkyan rubber plantation, Company A of 2nd/13th Frontier Force Rifles had encamped for the night. Around 2200 hours, the Japanese assaulted the encampment. The Company 10, 214th Regiment, had infiltrated the position in Sanchaung village before launching their attack, and the battle began at close range all along the line of departure. The IJA assault quickly reached as far as the local hospital where the Battalion HQ had set up. Here, the lead Japanese attack element encountered Captain Rahim Khan, who shot and killed with his service revolver the leading Japanese officer. Combat soon degenerated into a bloody hand-to-hand affair.
Attacker: Japanese (Company 10, 214th Infantry Regiment, 33rd Infantry Division)
