Overview:

War had come, and the Polish Uhlan Regiments (perhaps the finest cavalry in the world) threw themselves into the fray. By noon the first day, the German 20th Motorized Infantry Division was surging across the so-called “Polish Corridor” from the west towards the vital crossroads at Chojnice. Along the Chojnice-Naklo rail line, the German vanguard had been fought to a standstill by recently mobilized Polish reservists. Valor alone could not win this battle though; Polish causalities were mounting and ammunition was low. Yet, so close were the Germans that attempts to break off the action and withdraw failed. The "Pomorska" Cavalry Brigade, stationed in woodlands near the village of Knojanty, was ordered to extricate their comrades.
Attacker: German (Vanguard of Infanterie Regiment 76 (mot) with Divisional Recon Patrol)
Defender: Polish (13th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division and 18th Uhlan Regiment, Pomorska Cavalry Brigade)

2025-02-18(A) Todd Cox vs Polish winLots of good rolls for the Polish.
2025-02-14(D) Simon Staniforth vs Ian Ainsworth Polish winGermans conceded when it became clear they couldn’t achieve the Exit VC (one tank KO and another under Recall) and CVP were even. Given the SANs of 2, a lot of Sniper action in this game. Is there anything more ASL than seeing your 2 down 2 shot from a Green HS roll “snakes” to cower off the IFT only for the subsequent Sniper to take out your 9-2 leader…
2025-01-24(A) Ben B vs Jim Polish winI drew the Germans for this scenario and badly mismanaged the attack. Instead of striking a single point in their defense and attempting to push through and continue north, I thought that the superior German troops could dislodge the defenders and sent my scout cars behind their lines to disrupt routing attempts. I blundered in leaving the scout cars buttoned up and the Polish cavalry were able to CC the scout cars and immobilize one. By turn 5 it was evident that the Germans could no longer exit in time, nor could they destroy enough enemy to secure the needed CVP for the win.

2025-01-19(A) Chris Larkin vs Yzerdunn Polish winBadly misplayed by the Germans, was able to dislodge the Poles and push them back, but not before taking too many casualties to achieve victory.
