Overview:
After taking Süggerath, the "Railsplitters" needed to seize Müllendorf and Wurm. The valley approaching those towns was split by an elevated railroad, with an open hill on the right and flat farmland on the left. The afternoon's objectives were to take Gut (Chateau) Leerodt in the valley anc clear the bunkers and trenches on the hill. Even though the Americans had British armor support, the tanks were unable to find an unblocked railroad crossing to get close to the hill. Mud and mines hindered infantry and tanks alike.Attacker: American/British ((American) 2nd Battalion. 333rd Infantry, 84th "Railsplitters Division and (British) A Squadron.
