Overview:

The 18th Regimental Combat Team landed on Z Beach Green at 0120, and its 1st Battalion was immediately sent inland to capture St. Cloud and its high ground to the west known as Djebel Khar. Along the way, the battalion encountered a squadron of French armored cars near Renan. These vehicles were quickly dispatched, and the advance continued. The battalion arrived at St. Cloud to find that the local garrisons had been reinforced by Legionnaires and were concealed within the thick concrete walls of the town.

2025-02-21(D) Jon Jaramillo vs Eric Morton Vichy French win4 hrsPlayed this as a pickup game at WCM 2025. My opponent didn't full grok the SSRs and that may have hurt his overall plan. My OBA came on in my Turn 1 prep and really took the sting out of his initial attack on the east side. Then on the west side, his 9-2 leader and a full stack got hit with an attack from one HMG which broke the entire stack. That same leader was later wounder by a sniper, battle harden to a wounded 10-2 and became heroic. Quite a day. In the end, the American played way too cautiously and near the end of the game the Vichy just ran to the back of the board and set up gained concealment in 7 different building locations. The Americans determined they had no chance to get to all the Vichy unit and eliminate them all before the end of their turn.
