Overview:
Part of the garrison of the Adriatic Italian-controlled port of Zara, A Bersaglieri cyclist battalion, supported by light tanks, sappers and artillery, entered Yugoslavia on 12 April. Its objective was to take the Croatian city of Knin before a German panzerdivision. The first day went with no real opposition, apart from some minefields and a few frontier guards. The next day, under orders to speed up movement, the column came closer from Knin. But some Yugoslavian troops from the "Jadranska" Division had set up an ambush near the village of Ocestovo.Attacker: Italian (Battalion Bersaglieri "Zara")
