Overview:

The newly trained Chinese 2nd Commando was assigned to the BLUEBERRY Mission, which was ordered to attack the local Japanese garrison. The plan was to have support from the G.M.D. 10th Army, and also General Wong’s guerrilla forces. The commandos were to attack head-on, while the G.M.D. and guerrillas screened the flanks. The plan quickly fell apart as the guerrillas retreated when hit by mortar fire, and the 10th Army soldiers refused to leave their foxholes. Now on their own, the commandos began their attack. As they emerged from their reverse slope position, they were hit by mortar fire, and a machinegun in a concrete pillbox raked the area.
