Overview:
The troops defending Hill 30 were without ammo, food, and supplies of all types but the thing they lacked the most was plasma for the wounded. Cut off by the marshes to the east and by the Germans to the north, south and west, they were also proving to be a thorn in the Germans' side by interdicting any flanking attempts on Sainte-Mère-Église by helping to defend the bridge at Chef-du-Pont.
