Overview:
On 15 May, a heavy weapons platoon of Infanterie-Regiment 477, Infanterie-Division 257 held a defensive position around a forester's lodge in the vast Christishcher Forest. For several days, the ominous sounds of tank engines had been heard coming from the forest to the north. As dawn broke, four Soviet tanks lurched out of the forest followed by a small group of Soviet infantry. As a KV tank collapsed a forward bunker, the German soldiers panicked and raced away.Attacker: Russian (15th Tank Brigade)
