Overview:
The summer of '43 was turning into a constant exchange of attacks and counterattacks in Central Russia. Operation CITADEL had failed, and Operation KUTUZOV was an almost equal disaster for the Red Army. By the end of July, both sides were simultaneously licking their wounds and planning the next attack. A tired but recently refitted "Großdeutschland" would clash with a tired and worn 6th Guards Army several times near Belgorod, even as other formations from Army Group Center fled to the rear.Attacker: Russian (6th Guards with 5th Guards Tank Army)
