Errata - a 12th Canadian Infantry Brigade was added in the Italian theatre in 1944, created from the Motor battalion of 5th Canadian (Armoured) Division, the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards (recce battalion of the 1st Canadian Infantry Division), and a new infantry battalion created from disbanded anti-aircraft regiments, and permitted to wear the badges of The Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment. The three battalions served as the 12th Brigade until the 5th Armoured Division moved to NW Europe in early 1945, when the PLDG converted back to an armoured car (recce) regiment, the Westminsters went back to their Motor role, and the ack ack regiments converted back to artillery. |
