Monstir Gap | Walt McWilliams | German (SS) | 2020-12-18 | Won | Greek morale held tough in the early stages of the battle, allowing them to slow the German advance. However, the superior firepower, range, and morale of the SS had them trickling through the gap as the British reinforcements arrived. A small SS flanking force had scaled the cliffs on the German right and got into the rear of the Allied line. The British dispatched a platoon (-) to slow this thrust but the entire element was broken by long range MG fire from the right side hill. The collapse of this British blocking force allowed the SS to complete their move into the Allied rear and secure a victory. | 6 |
