Overview:

During Operation Veritable, the Canadian 4th Infantry Brigade and attached formations were to capture a vital stretch of roadway that connected Goch and Kalkar. The Goch-Kalkar road was a fairly ordinary paved two-lane market road surrounded by fields and a few farmsteads. The plan was fairly simple. The infantry would advance in the Kangaroos of the attached Armoured Carrier Regiment, supported by tank of the Fort Garry Horse, all behind a massive artillery barrage. Several objectives, including a “Milk Factory” (i.e., dairy barn) were to be seized and held at all costs during the initial assault.
Attacker: Canadian (A and D Companies, Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division, Fort Garry Horse and 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment)
Defender: German (6th Fallschirmjäger Division/901st Panzergrenadier Regiment, Panzer Lehr Division, Kampfgruppe von Hauser)

2020-11-15(A) tommaso gollini vs Stefano Galli Canadian winWe played the match 2 times, all 2 times the canadian won. The 88LL is the only real weapon for the german to be worthy of something (the other is the HMG). IF the 88LL fails to do real damage, the germans are toast. The creeping barrage may be extremely useful, but since it's randomness it can be really useless too (33%). For what i have learned, the CDN player can win easily if the dices are coming up even, and it can win even if the german has some luck (in the first game, the 88 killed 2xshermans and 2 Kangas, but then died badly. The german reinforcements are 1 turn too late to be a balanced scenario. And the CDN has too much freedom of movement in the plowed fields, if we played them accordingly to the rules. All in all a great fun if you are a Canadian player.. (really cant understand how the roar can be so german biased....)
2016-01-05(D) Andy Beaton vs Eoin Corrigan German winLots of ruined and burning armour all over the board, but the Wirblewind survived until the end and made a brutal end of Canadians trying to get their last objective hex. A great scenario.
2011-09-17(A) Paolo Cariolato vs sgt essig Canadian winVery interesting scenario, the canadians were able to wipe out the Germans from the map except for a squad with a lmg and a leader. Trouble is coming now with the german reinforcement. At the end all came down to a 1-1 CC roll, the German needed a 5 to eliminate all those stubborn Canadian. He rolled an 8 ... and I won.
2009-04-04(A) nathan wegener vs Peter W Canadian winGreat fun. Good OoB and both sides attacking and defending. We tried using balance for both sides which should help even things out.
2008-08-27(A) Peter Palmer vs John Knowles Canadian win[Imported from ROAR]
