Overview:

On the afternoon of June 10th, Italy declared war upon France and England. At a single stroke, the fight had leapt beyond the confines of Europe to become a "world" conflict. On the 16th, two troops of B Squadron, 11th Hussars, were patrolling the frontier when one of the drivers spotted an Italian column of tanks and trucks, loaded with infantry, moving north along the track on the Libyan side toward Fort Capuzzo. This was reported by radio to the Squadron HQ, even as the leader of the second troop spotted another column eastbound on a converging course. Altogether, the British now had 29 Italian tanks and 70 trucks in view. The Squadron CO ordered an immediate withdrawal. But the first troop had already moved through a gap in the frontier wire and opened fire on the Italians.

2023-05-21(D) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne DuvalA Italian winBritish MA's Malfunctioning was devastating. Italians took the cowards way to win by running around leaving the British to fire through the dust.
2021-10-20(A) John Garlic vs Gerry Proudfoot Italian win[Imported from ROAR]
2020-06-27(A) Shane Pask vs British winEven though the result went down to the last turn and I just won 17-10 VP, this is not one of my favourites. It probably didn't help that my 2 starting AC were wiped out turn 2. However, Italians could do nothing after that. In fact on the last turn all four of their malfed weapons were disabled.
2019-09-08(A) Jeff B vs Roy Connelly British win2.75 hrsIt became obvious early on that hitting small moving targets in the dust was not going to be the way to go, especially when a hit did not guarantee anything. So Turn 2 a new smash-up-derby strategy went into effect. I still needed to roll quite low, and got extremely lucky knocking out two trucks (including the one with the crew and gun). The next turn proved unlucky, with my four attempted overruns all unsuccessful. Turn 3 was head for the hillock time before the Italian reinforcements started pouring in. We played with the balance, which saw them come on one turn later than scheduled. I don't think the British stand much of a chance otherwise. The Italians remained mobile, passing at least 3/4 of their TCs, to hound the two running ACs. But all their standing shots missed and they were able to join their friends behind the hillock. Unfortunately for the Italians almost none of their tanks passed their TCs on Turn 4. The two that were able to get within sight of the Brits were both blasted to bits, and the Italians conceded with a 0-13 score. This was really just a pure dicefest and, even though DTO can tend to be that way, this was certainly not one I would want to play again.
