Overview:

Another day of pouring rain. The mud clung like black tar to the men's boots. The 292nd Infantry Division slowed its push to close the bag on the Russian Fourth Army. Each overrun town required its own garrison. Each possible exit needed a guard. As the leading troops shrank in number so did their speed. To insure success, Colonel-General Heinz Guderian abandoned his panzers to march on foot with the 507th Regiment. The Russians counterattacked east of Roslavl. Hastily laid minefields and marshy wet depressions offered the Germans hope that they could hold out until reinforcements arrived.

2022-08-21(D) Vic Lauterbach vs JM German winAs the defender, I had little except mines. Jim said all the MF clearing made it like a game of Catan! He used a mini-Human wave to take out my Q4 MG nest while he dug up mines. Two trailbreaks let his infantry rush through and both AFVs drove over my AT mines unharmed. My MG TK shots missed, but tempted Jim to fire the 45L at my V7 position, breaking its MA and costing him a precious exit VP! Near the end, we had a real firefight. I threw the SPW, ATG and crew into the fray to protect my Y5 MG nest, but Jim's rushing MMCs overwhelmed them. His 8-0 and four MMC got through my firelanes along the east edge, but two fell short, preserving my narrow victory. Most of the action isn't firing, but it was still fun and ten turns went fast.
2021-01-19(D) David Garvin vs Nick Faryna German winGreat match involving lots of pressure by Nick. In the end, a few key rolls went my way.
2012-08-09(A) Jesus Pie vs Eloisol German win
